District 7570 Governor Nominee

Nancy L. Whitlock has been selected to serve as District Governor of Rotary District 7570 in the 2020-2021 Rotary year. She will follow George Karnes and Tim Carter.

Nancy has been a very active member of the Rotary Club of Waynesboro since 2004, and served as President 2010-2011. She was Aide to DG Tracy Aitcheson- 2007-2009, and the Assistant Governor of Area 4- 2013-2016. Nancy previously served on the District Foundation Grants Committee- 2008-2011. She was GSE Team Leader to Northern Italy in 2012, and served as Vice Chair of the District GSE Committee, 2017. Nancy is currently Chair of the District Training Team for 2017-2018.

A little more about Nancy. She has been a nurse (RN) for 42 years, working in hospitals, coordinating community health care, and teaching nursing in community colleges and university programs. Nancy is currently the Clinical Coordinator at the Augusta Regional Free Clinic in Fishersville, VA, the best job she’s ever had! She closed her health care staffing business, PRN Staffing, to go to work at the Free Clinic. She is very active in her community, especially with the Waynesboro Salvation Army, where she is an Advisory Board member and Chair of the Public Relations and Development Committee.

Please help our club in congratulating Nancy. Thank you Nancy for taking on such a huge role in supporting our great District!

We hope you can join us for all, some or most of the following fun-filled opportunities for fellowship with fellow Rotarians.  All of these events are open for friends who might be interested in becoming a Rotarian in our club, so if you know someone who might be a good candidate for membership in our club, please invite them so they can see how much fun our club and members are!  These events provide time to visit with fellow Rotarians on a more social basis, without the time crunch of our weekly meetings.

We hope everyone and their significant others can make the annual picnic!  The food is always great and it is a perfect venue for fellowship and friendship.  And we are sure the weather will cooperate – but there is a covered pavilion if the weather gets ugly!

The cook–out will be a perfect opportunity to say thank you and farewell to President David Balser and a welcome to incoming President Lowrie Tucker.  Hamburgers and hot dogs will be provided and everyone is asked to bring a side dish or a dessert.  The camp is a very casual setting for fun and fellowship – and it is only 5 miles from Waynesboro!

Rotary International President, Barry Rassin, has selected his theme for the year. Rassin, a member of the Rotary Club of East Nassau, New Providence, Bahamas, unveiled the 2018-19 presidential theme, Be the Inspiration, to incoming district governors at Rotary’s International Assembly in San Diego, California, USA. “I want you to inspire in your clubs, your Rotarians, that desire for something greater. The drive to do more, to be more, to create something that will live beyond each of us.”
