FELLOWSHIP AND FRIENDSHIP EVENTS – APRIL TO JUNE

We hope you can join us for all, some or most of the following fun-filled opportunities for fellowship with fellow Rotarians.  All of these events are open for friends who might be interested in becoming a Rotarian in our club, so if you know someone who might be a good candidate for membership in our club, please invite them so they can see how much fun our club and members are!  These events provide time to visit with fellow Rotarians on a more social basis, without the time crunch of our weekly meetings.

APRIL 22.  MONDAY NIGHT TRIVIA AT THE COUNTRY CLUB

Lets get a table or two of Rotarians together for a fun night of trivia. We are such a diverse group of ages, interests and experiences, so hopefully a Rotarian table can be a serious challenge in a competition of trivia knowledge!    The country Club will provide a meal at a very reasonable rate (past examples have been make your own burger, a taco bar etc)  The club opens the event at 5:30pm for social and drinks, and the trivia event starts at 7.

MAY 10-12 WAYNE THEATER FOR BRIDGES OF MADISON COUNTY MUSICAL

When we conducted our survey of what fellowship events our members wanted to see, having an event at a Rotarian’s place of business – and a fun activity ranked highest.  So we have planned an event at the Wayne Theater with Rotarian Tracy!   Each Rotarian will purchase their ticket for the event, which will include a free drink.  We can gather in the Gallery room before the theater event to socialize before the musical, and if we know in advance how many are coming, we can hopefully sit together.

MAY 23 THE ANNUAL ROTARY PICNIC

We hope everyone and their significant others can make the annual picnic!  The food is always great and it is a perfect venue for fellowship and friendship.  And we are sure the weather will cooperate – but there is a covered pavilion if the weather gets ugly!

JUNE 20  COOK-OUT AT THE HEATWOLE CAMP

The cook–out will be a perfect opportunity to say thank you and farewell to President David Balser and a welcome to incoming President Lowrie Tucker.  Hamburgers and hot dogs will be provided and everyone is asked to bring a side dish or a dessert.  The camp is a very casual setting for fun and fellowship – and it is only 5 miles from Waynesboro!

Rotary International President, Barry Rassin, has selected his theme for the year. Rassin, a member of the Rotary Club of East Nassau, New Providence, Bahamas, unveiled the 2018-19 presidential theme, Be the Inspiration, to incoming district governors at Rotary’s International Assembly in San Diego, California, USA. “I want you to inspire in your clubs, your Rotarians, that desire for something greater. The drive to do more, to be more, to create something that will live beyond each of us.”
